Why is it that on some days my girls will go down for their naps without a peep. They just roll over and snuggle the sides of their squishy polka dotted bumpers. Then on other days...like today...they will giggle endlessly, peering at each other through the slats of their parallel cribs, only to have Maya burst out into blood curdling shrieks for at least ten minutes or more. This coupled with Zoe standing in her crib, knawing on the rubber crib rail guard egging her on with pitiful moans of her own. These BAD NAP DAY noises are the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for this tuckered out twin mama. Is all this drama really necessary when they always end up with the same result, falling off to sleep due to pretoddling baby exhaustion? Perhaps they have concluded that I do not yet have a sufficient number of gray hairs and are doing their part to up my total. I dunno...I just wish they would both go to sleep already so I could get started on my 4976 item to-do list... not to mention my four score and seventh load of laundry this month (and it is only July 7th!)
(after 30 minutes have elapsed)
HARK...Could that be quiet I detect from yonder nursery??? I do believe this storm may have subsided...for now. Two point for mommy!

We LIVE for naptime - not to mention bedtime. But naptime is like this grand reprieve in the middle of the day. Granted we work FT so naptime for us on the weekends is when we get to indulge!
